The ‘family’ apple tree.
Three different grafts on one rootstock. Ideal for a small garden, etc etc….
Egremont Russet, one of my favourite apples plus Fiesta (red Pippin cox style apple) and Sunset (a dessert apple) all on one tree! Trouble free so far, had loads of fruit last year too!
Here are the first blossoms on each graft.
They look beautiful, and all the more exciting with the promise of fruit to come!
My fruit bushes (blackcurrant, redcurrant, gooseberry) are flowering at the moment, but are less than spectacular! I’m glad I’ve got them though – my veg all failed last year!!!
It’s great isn’t it C? There’s blossom everywhere at the moment and pollen too, atishoo! Did you see I added an email address in the About page? You’re right I should have one there.
Beautiful, Jo!
Beautiful blossoms! We have 3 small columnar apple trees, but it looks as if only two have any blossom this year – quite a disapppointment.
You’re so far ahead of us! Our leaves have only just started to burst.
Do you know about this site: http://www.orangepippin.com
I have all my trees registered and it lets you record when it blossoms, fruits etc and how well it crops. Interesting stuff…
It does look interesting, but I only have the one family tree! I’ll drop them a note and see if they want me on their register… I’ve registered it as an egremont russet and put in the notes that it’s a family affair! It’s a great site Andrew, thanks for pointing me to it :)
