G is for Garden and G is for Garage. Two things that both need a lot of attention to look tidy. The less said about the Garage the better, grump, grizzle, groan…. This was yesterday in the Garden or rather looking out at the Garden from the kitchen window. We need rain, but do we need it all in one go?
So I had a little think and thought you might like to hear about this G…
Were you wondering what we were all doing in Frampton-on-Severn? We were going to the Circus!
And we had a Great Grand Gallumphing Gyroscoping Gyre and Gimble time!
We were treated to nothing less than Tolstoy’s War and Peace circus style, Russian costumes, Gymnasts and Jugglers, Knife throwing, Tweedy the Clown, Hawks, and Tumbling doves, it was high drama from start to finish!
There were Horses, Solidiers, Passion and a glorious musical score from this dedicated group of multi-tasking circus folk! And as the temperature soared to 30 degrees plus in the sold out show inside the Big Tent, it began to snow ….Magic! We loved it!
The circus has a pop up restaurant that travels with it: We stayed and had in keeping with the Russian themed show..
…borscht and rye bread and duck ragu and chocolate pie. (They ring you to check for allergies, food needs etc beforehand).
The children played chase and hide and seek on the acres of grass outside, disappearing behind the circus wagons as the sun blazed warmly over Frampton-on-Severn; a definite Gorgeous Grub in a Gazebo moment and not a Grump in sight…
I love this!
The circuses here in the States are usually Ringling Bros and they are set in arenas.
There is not the outdoor, traveling sort of feeling- it is slick and commercial and could just as easily be an ice capade!
I am enchanted with the costumes and the wonderful cafe and the last photo of the band has made my heart go pitter-pat!
Hey there Heidi, it was a lovely evening and it all seems like a dream right now :)
Glamorous gala, with gastronomic gourmet grub! Gorgeous get-ups, gallant guards and graceful gymnasts!
Goodness, your garage and garden are getting engulfed!
Thanks Celia!
A Grand day out for sure and a Russian chocolate pie into the bargain.
It was solid fare the chocolate pie, complete with cream and strawberries. ;)
Looks like a fabulous day out. Weren’t you lucky with the weather!
It was a beautiful afternoon, warm and sunny and indulgent :)
that circus looks so happy..and the meal sounds a perfect end to a fun day..jane
H is for happiness too :)
What a glorious circus…looks like great fun! =)
I haven’t been to a circus for many years, they have changed a lot of course, but the energy and the fun was great Abby!
That looks like lots of fun Joanna…and I’m intrigued by the circus food. It all sounds wonderful. Not a hot chip, or donut to be seen!
There was candy floss, pink, Darthjelly looked at it with longing but didn’t get any on this occasion. Though he had three helpings of chocolate pie…. (don’t know where he put it ;) )
I’ve fallen behind on these posts – but just had to comment on this one. That rainy photo – it was exactly like that at my house when you would have been posting this – and it’s still like that now!! Where is summer?
It’s turned a bit hasn’t it? One of the clues is that this weekend 12-14th August is the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta and no matter where they put it, there’s often unsettled windy wet weather to go with it, or that’s my story and I’m sticking to it ;)
