This is the trouble with hot nights. One reads one’s friends’ blogs. One wanders off across the internet to other blogs, and before you know it, you are making jigsaw puzzles.
Thanks to Time Thief and Panos and the jigsawsite (links below). You are so generous with your knowledge and make it easy for people like me to play and have fun late at night.
So just this once, here is a jigsaw puzzle on the blog, and it is not a poodle..
Online jigsaw puzzles from JigsawSite.com
and now the voice that speaks on the computer and calls out the half hour in an attempt to make me not sit here for too long tells me it’s 1 a.m. So hot or not I had better try to get some sleep.
… no spoilers…
Helpful tips (added following morning) : The puzzle has 25 pieces, is a square and the finished puzzle takes up maybe a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the frame and you can use the buttons at the top to stop and start and rewind I think. And I love you whatever your time or even if you don’t do it at all. It’s only for fun! PS It doesn’t work on an iPad, I don’t lnow if it only works on a desktop computer, sorry if you can’t see it. I will put the photo in a post tomorrow, Joanna
I know what that’s like. I plan on going to bed early but then I get on the computer and start hopping around the world catching up on everyone’s news and before I realise it, it’s midnight. Blogging is a very addictive past-time xx
You are so right Charlie! It is the moment when I realise I have no idea how I got to where I got to that always bothers me, like a small child running through a zoo looking at everything, who turns around to find that the people it’s with are nowhere to be seen :)
4mins 34secs. Is that good? Start with the corners first, I’ve always been told. Lovely photo! :)
Absolutely! Corners first, straight edges next, spread your pieces out nicely. You are a delight for playing along :)
It is a lovely photo. I am terrible at jigsaw puzzles, I must love you a lot to even try- and it took me a little longer than 7 minutes. ( Drops head in shame. )
I try to stay away from the computer at night- it is too addictive.
I am pretty bad at them too if we are honest. I always think they are going to end up bigger than they do, which slows me down. My brother Tim is good at puzzles, but not fast. We don’t do things very fast in my family, apart from talking :)
gosh I was slow!!! It threw me that it didn’t fit into the entire area, once I had that sorted I was fine :)
And that was 8 mins when I should have been showering and getting ready – naughty Joanna for putting that in my way..:)
Sorry, that threw me too, 25 pieces, thank you for having a go Lynne – I will edit the post to make that point x
I love puzzles. Thank you!! The perfect picture too.
They have brought their babies too and are still around, we love hearing them singing in the shrubs. They sit on the tv arials attached to chimneys as well, seems to be a favourite perch. So pleasd you had fun !
Joanna
I like jigsaw puzzles but my eyesight isn’t great. I always do the corners and outline lines first. This was fun.
Can you imagine how it would slow everyone down reading blog posts if they had to put every image together first :) :) I am still not quite sure how I got from you to Panos last night and ended up doing this. Thanks for playing !
The voice on the computer that calls out the time? I need one of those – where do you get them? It would perhaps pre-empt the voice coming from the doorway, telling me how late it is…
After a while you ignore this too..
I have a setting option in ‘Date & Time’ (one of the Mac System Preferences) called Clock which you can check to announce the time on the hour, the half hour, or the quarter hour. You can also customize the Voice to male or female and nationality. I have Serena telling me the half hours that pass as I sit here…
That was the most fun I have had in a week! Cheers for that :)
You are welcome :)
